UPDATE: We got the news yesterday that Tristan has TWO forms of leukemia… the very rare (especially in children) CML with combined B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This was NOT what we expected to hear. We are thinking about playing the lottery given our odds lately 🙈. To say we are devastated is an understatement. He will require 2 rounds of chemo (4 weeks each, in patient) then a bone marrow transplant. Then isolation for 6 months. It will be a LONG road … but we are praying for a full recovery… even if it takes years.

How is he doing? Today he is tired & irritable from chemo…and he had to prematurely get his braces removed. I am very grateful we got a new room with a window & 2 beds so we are more comfortable (yes I moved in flamingo suitcase and all).

POSITIVES
I met an amazing woman who’s young child is hospitalized a few rooms over and I can tell we will become fast friends & support for each other.
While Matt & I were grabbing a quick dinner we met a woman who’s husband is hospitalized and a young father who’s child stopped breathing from sleep apnea but was rescued and just had surgery to correct the problem. Talking with these amazing people shows how fragile life can be; however, how by lending a listening ear, empathy and positive attitude can help someone's day just a little better.
